The Lighthouse was built in 1884 of cast iron lined with brick upon Little Cormorant Rock about 800 yards offshore from Sakonnet Point. Decommissioned after Hurricane Carol in 1954, it was bought by Carl Haffenreffer at auction saying” I was afraid someone was going to paint it pink or haul it away for scrap”. The Lighthouse was relit in 1997 after it was donated to and restored by the Friends of the Sakonnet Point Lighthouse.

All glazes are non-toxic and safe for the dishwasher and microwave.
